We couldn’t be more excited to announce the release of the 2025 DAF Fundraising Report!

This is the only study of its kind that dives into nonprofit experience with Donor Advised Funds (DAF) and DAF donor behavior. It comes during a time of upheaval in our sector – funding cuts, economic uncertainty, an increased demand for services, and other factors.  But it also is coincidentally timed with the latest from Giving USA that reports giving in 2024 hits a record $592.5 billion and outpaced inflation.

This year’s report includes 60% more nonprofit participants than the 2024 study and shares trends, medians, and averages based on $12 billion in giving with $1.15 billion in DAF giving.

Among the most interesting and actionable data points:

DAFs increase individual giving.

When a donor starts giving via DAF, their annual value increases by 100%.

Donors at all levels are using DAFs.

It’s not just ‘major’ donors! 69% of DAF giving analyzed in this study were gifts BELOW $1000.

DAF donors are loyal.

Consistently retaining 15 percentage points higher than non DAF donors.

DAFs increase individual giving.

When a donor starts giving via DAF, their annual value increases by 100%.

Given these key findings, I am confident that the growth in giving we see in Giving USA’s report is at least in part fueled by the surge in DAF giving.  And I am confident there is more we can do to solicit and steward DAF giving across the nonprofit sector.

The report includes so many more data points, case studies, and tips on getting DAF data in order. Download it now and tell us what you think!
