Sam joined K2D Strategies as an Account Executive with 15 years of direct response marketing experience. Her start in fundraising began as a student at Bucknell University as part of their alumni calling program, and from there her journey continued to Columbia University where she received a graduate degree in fundraising management.
She has helped higher education institutions meet their enrollment goals and executed omnichannel marketing campaigns in the financial sector. Whether as staff or strategic advisor, Sam is always using data-informed decisions to get the best results and help achieve the organization’s mission. She is eager to try new ideas and tactics and has adopted the motto “if you’re not testing, you’re guessing.”
At the Institute for Shipboard Education, she created their first mobile giving program and has carried that passion for innovation throughout her career. Sam’s career has included work directly for nonprofits as well as direct response fundraising agencies. She most recently spent a year in Dublin as the Philanthropy Manager at Dogs Trust Ireland, where she helped revamp their Annual Report and build their midlevel giving program.
Outside of work, Sam volunteers for the youth program at Circles RVA, an organization focused on breaking the cycle of poverty. She can usually be found in a Pilates class, reading a book, kayaking down the James River in Richmond with her husband, or attempting to relearn Spanish.
